Editing and Translating

Mostly worked on translating Dream Voyage Inc, and also some bit on Hollow and The Unknown.

Not the most productive day, but it turned out I want to rewrite Dream Voyage a bit. There is a part in there that I don’t like much in original, so I’m using the translation to fix that.

At the same time, I think I won’t be touching the original. Why, if I think it needs improvement? The easiest answer is because I’m lazy, and since am lazy I’d rather give the easiest answer, wouldn’t I? 🙂

For the real reason, though, I will refer to The Pursuit of Perfection by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. She makes a lot of great points on the topic of writing and publishing, but the one that important here is that one must look ahead. I am already having trouble with developing new ideas—most of what I’m working on is old, conceived and written years ago. If to all of that I start rewriting what is already published… it will surely be the end of me.

I am planning to do something about it this summer, but that is to be seen. Anyway, the original of this particular story will stay as it is. Also, not rereading The Snake, though I have just updated the cover and added Thank you page. But no rewriting. Nope.
